Acupuncture is a two thousand year old medicine based on the use of very fine STERILE needles, that are inserted into the body at strategic points promoting the movement of Qi. During a treatment which can last between 45 minutes to an hour, the patient lies on a couch and between 15 - 20 needles are inserted. The patient may feeling various sensations such as a heaviness, floating or tingling. All of these sensations are perfectly normal and will wear off fairly quickly. Many patients after their treatment leave feeling very relaxed and are surprised that the acupuncture if relatively painless a pleasant experience.
